In the summer of 2026, a wave of violence shattered an East St. Louis, Illinois family, leaving a community in mourning. Among the victims was 74-year-old Patricia May, a beloved mother, and grandmother. The tragedy unfolded on July 12, 2026, when Patricia and four other members of her family were fatally shot in a targeted attack that spanned three different locations in the city. Two other family members were also wounded in the rampage but survived.
