On the evening of June 18, 2026, the quiet of a Brandon, Florida neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire, leading to a tragic discovery on Burlwood Street. Inside a residence, deputies from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office found 52-year-old Katherine Luz Evans, who had sustained what appeared to be fatal gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
