Sharon Darius Walker, a 30-year-old man, was killed during an early-morning shooting on July 6, 2026, on Cleveland’s East Side. The violence left three other people wounded and prompted an active homicide investigation involving two locations in the city’s Fourth District.
At approximately 3:18 a.m., Cleveland police officers were responding to a ShotSpotter gunfire alert near East 102nd Street and Sophia Avenue.
Before reaching the reported location, officers were approached by two 17-year-old girls who had suffered gunshot wounds. The teenagers told police they had been shot while traveling in a vehicle near East 116th Street and Buckeye Road.
When officers arrived at East 102nd Street and Sophia Avenue, they discovered Walker and another victim, identified only as a 21-year-old, suffering from gunshot wounds. Walker was pronounced dead at the scene. The two teenage girls and the other wounded victim were transported to a local hospital, where authorities reported that all three were in stable condition.
The circumstances leading to the shooting have not been publicly explained. Authorities have not disclosed whether Walker and the surviving victims were together when the gunfire began, whether they were specifically targeted, or whether the shooting resulted from an argument, an ambush, or another confrontation.
