In what has been described as a targeted, domestic-related incident, 48-year-old Herbert Lomax was shot and killed on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in a Mundelein, Illinois apartment. The shooting, which also left a 47-year-old woman seriously injured, occurred at approximately 11:40 a.m. in the 500 block of Deepwoods Drive.
