Andrew Laporte, a 19-year-old man from Kettering, Ohio, died on May 30, 2026, after a shooting inside a home near the 2800 block of Shroyer Road in Kettering. The first emergency reports came in around 8:46 p.m. that Saturday, bringing Kettering police officers and medics into the neighborhood after dispatchers received word of a shooting. What first appeared to responders as a possible self-inflicted shooting quickly became more complicated as officers began speaking with people at the scene.
