Jatywan Easterling, a 26-year-old male, was fatally shot on April 18, 2014, while sitting inside his gold Chevrolet pickup truck in the parking lot of Smith's Superette on Lorenz Avenue in Dayton, Ohio. The incident occurred around 11 p.m., and Easterling was pronounced dead at the scene after being shot multiple times. The suspects, believed to be three young men, fled the scene on foot, and despite the efforts of a K-9 unit, they were not immediately apprehended.
