In the late hours of an early spring evening in Cleveland, Ohio, a sequence of events began that would ultimately lead to the tragic death of 40-year-old Darnell Bell. On April 1, 2026, at approximately 11:05 p.m., the sound of gunfire prompted a ShotSpotter alert in the vicinity of the 1100 block of East 105th Street, drawing officers from the Fifth District to the scene.
