On June 24, 2017, Nelson Sosa, aged 41, was shot and killed at the Tropical Bar, Restaurant, and Game Room in west Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. on Tuckaseegee Road, where gunfire erupted inside the establishment. Sosa was found by responding officers suffering from gunshot wounds and was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
