Salvador Abraham Toruno-Rivera, aged 36, was tragically killed in a robbery on December 10, 2005, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Toruno-Rivera had just returned from a convenience store with a neighbor to their residence at 404 Hilo Drive when they were confronted by a man dressed in all black. The assailant, armed with a pistol, demanded money from both men. While attempting to comply with the robber's demands, Toruno-Rivera was shot before he could hand over more money.
