On August 30, 2017, Alvara Morales, 31, was shot and killed following an argument on Uppergate Lane in east Charlotte, marking the city’s 61st homicide of the year. The incident occurred in a residential area, and neighbors reported hearing gunshots. Despite the quick response from authorities, no arrests were made immediately following the shooting.
