An young girl's remains are found after she vanished while walking to school
On September 19, 1949, 11-year-old Joanne Ena Lynn disappeared while walking to school along State Route 15A in Hemlock, New York. Her body was discovered five days later, on September 24, 1949, in a wooded area about seven miles from where she was last seen. Joanne had been shot twice, and evidence suggested that an attempt was made to sexually assault her.
