In the early morning hours of May 14, 2026, the quiet of a Coral Springs, Florida, neighborhood was shattered by the sound of multiple gunshots. When police arrived at the 2500 block of Riverside Drive, they discovered the body of 18-year-old Khameran Jackson of Dania Beach. Jackson had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his upper right torso and was pronounced dead at the scene by Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department personnel.
The initial investigation revealed a chaotic scene, with shell casings found on the pool deck of the Coral Springs Tower Club apartment complex and a rifle discovered submerged in the pool.
The investigation quickly led police to a resident of the apartment complex, 22-year-old T'vano Angelo Ashford Rolle. Witnesses reported seeing a man matching Rolle's description carrying a backpack near the pool area immediately after the shooting. Surveillance footage also captured Rolle in the vicinity. After initially denying any involvement, Rolle was taken into custody and charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. He has not been charged with homicide. Rolle later admitted to his involvement in the shooting but claimed it was an act of self-defense.
According to Rolle's statement to investigators, the events leading to Khameran Jackson's death began the previous day. He claimed that he, Jackson, and an unidentified third person had gone to a music studio before returning to his apartment complex to spend time at the pool. Rolle alleged that Jackson and the other individual asked to take pictures with his gold Cuban-link chain and then attempted to rob him of it. Rolle stated that this led to a shootout after all three individuals drew their firearms. Following the shooting, Rolle said he took his gun back to his apartment and hid it in a backpack in his closet. As of now, the investigation into Khameran Jackson's death is ongoing, and no one has been arrested for homicide in connection with the case. The Coral Springs police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including Rolle's self-defense claim and the role of the third, unidentified individual.
