On the evening of March 28, 2026, the life of 38-year-old Levett Gilliam, a Black/African American man, was tragically cut short in the Buckner Terrace neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. Gunshots shattered the quiet of the 4600 block of St. Francis Avenue at approximately 8:34 p.m. When Dallas police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Gilliam suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency responders from Dallas Fire-Rescue quickly transported him to a local hospital.
He was in critical condition upon arrival and, despite the efforts of the medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The preliminary investigation determined that Gilliam had been shot by unknown individuals.
