In the spring of 2026, a shocking wave of violence devastated a north Tulsa neighborhood, culminating in the tragic death of 29-year-old Carlissa Harris on March 31st. Harris, who was pregnant at the time, was one of two victims shot and killed in a car. The other victim was 75-year-old Moesly Livingston, a ride-share driver. Harris was in the backseat of Livingston's vehicle when the fatal shots were fired.
The incident was part of a violent crime spree that left the community in fear.
Authorities identified the suspect as 34-year-old Marsean Taylor, who was reportedly in a relationship with Harris. Following the double homicide, Taylor's rampage continued. He is believed to have attempted to break into several apartments before successfully forcing his way into one residence and stabbing a man. When the stabbing victim tried to escape, Taylor chased him and stabbed him again. His violent spree then moved to a nearby gas station where he attempted to steal beer and threatened employees with two knives.
The terrifying series of events came to an end when Tulsa Police officers confronted Taylor at the gas station. After unsuccessful attempts to subdue him with less-lethal methods such as pepper spray, a taser, and a bean bag launcher, an officer shot and killed Taylor. The officer who fired the fatal shot was placed on administrative duties pending an investigation. The death of the suspect brought a close to the violent spree, but left behind a community to mourn the loss of innocent lives.
