In the early morning hours of April 5, 2026, the quiet of Pompano Beach, Florida, was broken by the discovery of a man lying in the roadway. The man, identified as 40-year-old Rayon Sanchez, was found in the 1600 block of North Dixie Highway at approximately 2 a.m. He had sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
