In a tragic incident on April 6, 2026, 16-year-old Je’Monte Hugger lost his life in Hinesville, Georgia, after being shot. The young man's death was the result of a domestic dispute that turned fatal.
The shooting occurred at a home on East Oglethorpe Highway in Liberty County. Authorities reported that an argument between Je’Monte and his older brother escalated, leading to the fatal shooting. Responding to a call about shots being fired, Liberty County Sheriff's deputies discovered Je'Monte inside the residence.
The suspect, identified as Je’Monte's older brother, Javaris White, was located in the woods near the house and apprehended by law enforcement. White was subsequently arrested and booked into the county jail. He is facing several charges, including murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and multiple firearm-related offenses. Following his arrest, Javaris White was denied bond. The case remains under investigation by the Liberty County Sheriff's Office.
