In the early evening of April 7, 2026, 20-year-old Imani Ringgold was on a break from her new job as a home health aide in West Philadelphia. Having just started three days prior, she was saving money for her recently confirmed acceptance into the Community College of Philadelphia. She had just purchased a slice of pizza and was on the phone with her grandmother when her life was tragically cut short in a hail of gunfire on the 5900 block of Market Street.
