On April 16, 2016, four-year-old Tahirah Phillips tragically lost her life in Philadelphia, PA. She was in a bedroom with her six siblings when her father, Maurice Phillips, began playing with a loaded gun. In a reckless act, the gun discharged, and the bullet struck Tahirah in the head, killing her instantly. Tahirah was African American.
