A 31 year old hair stylist is murdered inside of her salon
On June 9, 2004, Yvonne Leila Torch, a 31-year-old hair stylist and mother of two, was found brutally murdered inside her business, the His and Hers Hair Salon, located on Route 9W in the town of Newburgh, New York. She was discovered around 11:00 a.m. by a client arriving for an appointment, and investigators determined she had been severely beaten to death earlier that morning. Torch was a well-known member of the community and operated the salon for several years.
