The vibrant hairdresser was discovered murdered inside her own business, the 'His and Hers Hair Salon' on Route 9W in the Balmville area of Newburgh, New York. The grim discovery was made around 11:00 a.m. by her next client, who found her lifeless on the salon floor.
Investigators determined she had been brutally beaten to death in a narrow 15-minute window between 10:40 and 10:55 a.m.
The shocking crime sent ripples of fear and grief through the tight-knit community, where Torch was known as a friendly and hardworking woman.
