A 49-year-old man, Kerry Flanagan, was fatally shot on the evening of April 14, 2026, in Chicago's Calumet Heights neighborhood. The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. in the 8800 block of South Paxton Avenue. Flanagan was driving when he was struck by gunfire.

After being shot twice in the head, Flanagan attempted to drive away from the scene but ultimately crashed his vehicle. Emergency services responded and transported him to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical cond ...
