Ty’Ron was a Wylie ISD student and had attended Wylie High School and Achieve Academy. School officials described him as a valued member of the campus community and said he was loved by friends, teachers, and administrators. His aunt, Raekeia Jenkins, described him as a loving teenager who was close to his family and had a future ahead of him. She said his death devastated his mother, who had lost her youngest child, and she spoke about the pain of knowing he would never get to graduate or walk across the stage with his classmates.
Within days, the investigation led police to Anna, Texas. On April 20, 2026, authorities arrested Jermey Butler and Valquan Harris, both Anna residents, on capital murder warrants connected to Ty’Ron’s death. The arrests happened during what was described as the end of a multi-day search. One witness later described seeing officers swarm a vehicle at a red light in Anna, not realizing at first that she was watching the arrest of someone accused in the Wylie park killing. Around the same time, police confirmed a second arrest took place near Anna High School.
A third suspect, Jakori Levi, also of Anna, was later taken into custody. Police said Levi surrendered to the Anna Police Department on April 24, 2026, after investigators obtained a warrant charging him with capital murder in Ty’Ron’s death. He was booked into the Collin County Detention Center. With Levi’s surrender, Wylie police said three suspects had been arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with the shooting.
