In the late afternoon of March 27, 2026, the community of Huron, California, was shaken by an act of violence that claimed the life of 19-year-old Luis Leyva. A Hispanic male, Leyva was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at the intersection of Crocker Avenue and Los Angeles Street. Despite the immediate medical aid provided by Fresno County Sheriff's deputies who responded to reports of shots fired around 4:45 p.m., his injuries proved fatal, and he died at the scene.
