In the early morning hours of Easter Sunday, a day typically marked by celebration and renewal, a tragedy unfolded in a Stillwater, Oklahoma home, forever altering the lives of a young family. Audrey Kaylyn Adams, a 27-year-old woman, was shot and killed on April 5, 2026, in a violent end to what authorities believe was a domestic dispute.
The stillness of the morning was shattered by a frantic 911 call from the mother of Connor Kinnaman, Adams' ex-boyfriend.
In the chilling recording, she can be heard telling the dispatcher that her son had just shot his girlfriend. The incident escalated from an argument, culminating in the fatal shooting. Tragically, the couple's five-year-old son was present in the home at the time of the incident, along with several other individuals.
Following the shooting, Kinnaman fled the scene, prompting a multi-state alert. His attempt to evade capture was short-lived, however. He was apprehended by law enforcement in Kansas, approximately 100 miles north of the crime scene, after being pulled over for a traffic violation. His black Buick, the vehicle he used to flee, was identified by authorities, leading to his arrest.
The Payne County Sheriff's deputies who responded to the scene discovered a chaotic and heartbreaking situation. Audrey Adams was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation that followed quickly pointed to Kinnaman as the sole suspect. He has since been charged with first-degree murder and is awaiting further court proceedings. The community was left to grapple with the sudden and violent loss of a young mother, whose life was cut short in a moment of unimaginable tragedy.
