In the early morning hours of Friday, February 27, 2026, a dispute in Rural Hall, North Carolina, tragically cut short the life of 43-year-old Richard Aaron Davis Jr. The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office reported that deputies were called to the 200 block of Woodbriar Path just after midnight following a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Richard Aaron Davis Jr. with a gunshot wound to the chest.
He was quickly transported to a local hospital for medical attention but ultimately succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
Investigators determined that an argument between Davis and another individual had escalated into a physical fight. During this altercation, the suspect allegedly brandished a firearm and shot Davis. The investigation led to the swift arrest of 20-year-old Demetrius Lamont Hart Jr. Hart was taken into custody and has been charged with felony murder in connection with the death of Richard Aaron Davis Jr. He is currently being held at the Forsyth County Detention Center without bond.

Described as a kind-hearted man, he was known for his generosity, with those close to him saying he would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. He found joy in fishing and had a passion for helping the homeless. His family was a central part of his life, and his faith was also very important to him. He is survived by his son, Kyle Lambeth, his parents, and other family members.
