In the quiet town of Guthrie, Kentucky, the life of 24-year-old Evan William Hall was tragically cut short on the morning of Sunday, March 8, 2026. A male known for his love of family, friends, and the outdoors, Evan was a father who enjoyed arrowhead hunting and fishing. The day's events unfolded on Springmont Circle, where law enforcement was called around 9 a.m.
to respond to a shooting.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered Evan Hall in the roadway, having sustained at least one gunshot wound. Kentucky State Police, along with the Guthrie Police Department, Todd County Sheriff's Office, Elkton Police Department, and the Todd County Coroner's Office, secured the area. A large portion of the road and three houses were cordoned off for several hours as investigators utilized a drone and scanning equipment to process the crime scene. During the investigation, it was also reported that a second individual had been assaulted during the altercation.
In connection with the fatal shooting, Todd County Sheriff's deputies took 24-year-old Jerell Edmonds of Elkton into custody at the scene. Edmonds was subsequently charged with murder and fourth-degree assault. Some reports also indicated a charge of possession of marijuana. Following his arrest, Jerell Edmonds was lodged in the Todd County Jail as the investigation into the death of Evan Hall continues.
