In a tragic sequence of events that unfolded in San Bruno, California, Oqim Zacariah Jordan, a 31-year-old Black male, lost his life on February 7, 2026. Responding to reports of a shooting, police discovered Jordan with gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The incident, which is being investigated as a homicide, led authorities to a grim discovery at a residence on Keefe Court.
At the same location where Jordan was found, a house fire had also been reported. While searching the burned residence, authorities located human remains. These were later identified as Lijah Matthew Jordan, Oqim's 33-year-old brother. Law enforcement officials have named Lijah Jordan as the suspect in his brother's shooting death.
Investigators believe the incident was a murder-suicide, with the working hypothesis being that Lijah Jordan shot his brother before setting the house on fire. Police have indicated that the altercation was confined to the two brothers and that there is no further threat to the public. Due to the deaths of both the victim and the suspect, the case is not expected to proceed to court.
