On a Saturday afternoon in Santa Ana, California, the quiet of the day was broken by the sound of gunfire. On February 7, 2026, at approximately 3:48 p.m., police responded to calls of a man down on the sidewalk near the intersection of McFadden Avenue and South Graham Lane. Arriving officers discovered 39-year-old Rene Amriz suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper torso. He was quickly transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
