On the evening of January 2, 2025, Santa Ana police responded to reports of a shooting in the east alley of 1400 S. Standard Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered Gerson Ramirez, a 38-year-old man from Santa Ana, unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders from the Orange County Fire Authority pronounced Ramirez deceased at the scene. Authorities have not yet disclosed the motive behind the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.
