In the early hours of Sunday, February 8, 2026, a 26-year-old mother of four, Asia Monet Stewart, was fatally shot in Houston, Texas, after attempting to intervene in an altercation. The incident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. in the parking lot of the Wesley Square Apartments on Calhoun Road in the Sunnyside neighborhood. Stewart, a security guard, had just completed a 16-hour shift when she went to the apartment complex to de-escalate a dispute that had been ongoing for several days and
