In the pre-dawn hours of Friday, February 20, 2026, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a Winston-Salem neighborhood, leaving a family grieving and a community searching for answers. Responding to a call of a shooting at approximately 5:33 a.m., officers from the Winston-Salem Police Department arrived at the 4200 block of Brownsboro Road to find Ricardo Lamont Edwards, a 46-year-old man, suffering from a gunshot wound.
