In the early evening of January 27, 2026, the life of 36-year-old Timothy Elbert was cut short in a fatal shooting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. in the 2500 block of North Street. Responding to a call, Baton Rouge Police officers discovered Elbert lying in the roadway, having sustained at least one gunshot wound.
Emergency services transported Elbert to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The Baton Rouge Police Department's homicide division has since launched an investigation into the deadly shooting.
