In the late morning of January 30, 2026, the life of 17-year-old Ayden Anthony Wyatt, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in Hanford, California. The incident unfolded at the Casa Del Sol Apartments, where police responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 10:18 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Wyatt suffering from a single gunshot wound.
Despite immediate medical attention, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the homicide quickly pointed to several individuals. Authorities identified 19-year-old Famous Hinton and 25-year-old Pasha Evins as the primary suspects in the fatal shooting. A grey SUV connected to the suspects was located later in the 800 block of Ogden Street, leading to a tense situation where Hanford police and SWAT officers surrounded a residence where they believed the suspects might be hiding.
The pursuit of the suspects extended beyond Hanford. With the assistance of the Kings County SWAT Team and the California Highway Patrol, Hinton and Evins were apprehended in Southern California. Traveling with them was 25-year-old Elise Hernandez. Following their capture, Hinton and Evins were charged with murder and conspiracy. Hernandez faced charges of aiding and abetting and being an accessory after the fact for her role in the events following Wyatt's death.
