In the quiet town of Inman, South Carolina, a domestic dispute on the evening of Tuesday, February 3, 2026, ended in the tragic death of 21-year-old Skyy Ernestasjah Logan. Deputies from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office were called to a residence on Farm Creek Road around 9 p.m. following a report of an accidental shooting. The 911 call was placed by the mother of Jayvion Nyrek Rice, Logan's 19-year-old boyfriend.
Upon their arrival, first responders discovered Logan on the front
porch with a gunshot wound to her torso. She was immediately transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for treatment but succumbed to her injuries shortly before midnight. Present at the scene was Logan's 3-year-old son, who witnessed the horrific event.
Initially, Rice claimed to investigators that the shooting was an accident, stating that the firearm discharged unintentionally while he was handling it. However, as the investigation progressed, authorities uncovered evidence suggesting the shooting occurred during a domestic dispute. Prosecutors later described the heart-wrenching scene, stating that Logan's young son was heard calling out for his mother after she was shot.
Jayvion Nyrek Rice was taken into custody and has been charged with one count of murder and one count of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime in connection with the death of Skyy Ernestasjah Logan.
