In the afternoon of December 29, 2025, a gathering of about 15 to 20 young people at Historic Stop Six Park in Fort Worth, Texas, took a tragic turn. An argument broke out among the group, escalating into a physical altercation. Suddenly, the sound of gunshots pierced the air. When the chaos subsided, 17-year-old Cyanna Boone, a Black female, was found on the ground with fatal gunshot wounds.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second victim, 18-year-old Frank Price Jr., was found a short time later in a parked car on Handley Drive, also suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. Investigators quickly determined that the two shootings were connected, stemming from the initial altercation at the park.
Cyanna, known affectionately as "CC" to her loved ones, was a senior at Dunbar High School with a bright future ahead of her. She was on track to graduate in May with an associate's degree and had dreams of attending college. Her family described her as a vibrant and intelligent young woman who was a light in every room she entered. Her mother, Chante Williams, remembered her as a friendly person with a positive vibe, someone who loved nature and was wise beyond her years. She was looking forward to celebrating her 18th birthday on January 10, 2026.
In the weeks following the shooting, the Fort Worth Police Department made two arrests in connection with the deaths of Cyanna Boone and Frank Price Jr. On January 17, 2026, 18-year-old Ricco Henderson was taken into custody and charged with murder. Three days later, a second suspect, 17-year-old Dontae Woods, was also arrested and faced a murder charge. Both suspects were booked into the Fort Worth Police Detention Center. The community and Cyanna's family were left to mourn the senseless loss of a young life, calling for an end to youth violence.
