In the late afternoon of December 30, 2025, the life of 33-year-old Reginald Scott Thomas Jr. was cut short in a shooting at the Quality Inn hotel on Highway 63 in Moss Point, Mississippi. Authorities were alerted to the incident between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. by a woman who was present in the room at the time of the shooting.
