In the early morning hours of January 2, 2026, a sense of unease settled over the 100 block of East Warren Avenue in Oildale, California. The quiet of the neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire, a tragic event that would claim the life of 40-year-old John Tony Duval Jr. When sheriff's deputies arrived at the scene around 2:30 a.m., they discovered Duval suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite their efforts to render aid, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
