In the early morning hours of Saturday, January 3, 2026, the community of Ahoskie, North Carolina, was disturbed by an act of violence that claimed the life of a local man. Randy M. Riddick, a 60-year-old resident of Powellsville, was fatally shot at the Speedway convenience store located at 1000 East Memorial Drive. The incident occurred at approximately 1:15 a.m., shattering the typical late-night quiet of the area.
