In the early evening of January 4, 2026, a burst of violence shattered the cold air in Cleveland, Ohio, claiming the life of 22-year-old Jason Christopher Bond. The young man sustained a fatal gunshot wound in an incident that unfolded near the intersection of Riverside Avenue and Pearl Road, in close proximity to MetroHealth Medical Center.
According to police reports, the shooting occurred at approximately 7:46 p.m.
In the immediate aftermath, a wounded Bond managed to exit his vehicle and walk towards the hospital in a desperate attempt to find help. When officers from the Second District arrived at the scene, they found emergency medical services attending to him outside the medical center. He was quickly taken into MetroHealth, but his injury proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead by the medical staff.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office later identified the victim as Jason Christopher Bond. The Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit has taken charge of the investigation into the shooting. Jason was the son of Cecilia N. Cintron and Jason C. Bond. He was a father to his child, Alanys Bond, and a brother to Christopher Bond, Simba Cintron, Alice Cintron, and Maher, Hammad, Mustafa, and Mia Iwais.
