In the early morning hours of a Saturday in Texas City, a burst of violence shattered the quiet of a neighborhood, leaving a young man's life tragically cut short. Luis Aguilera-Ramirez, 28, was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the 1100 block of 12th Avenue North just before 4 a.m. on January 6, 2026. Despite the swift response of police, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Texas City Police Department quickly launched an investigation into the fatal shooting.
Their efforts soon led them to a suspect, 22-year-old Edward Arispe. Arispe was apprehended without incident and has since been charged with murder in connection with the death of Aguilera-Ramirez.
Following his arrest, Arispe was booked into the Galveston County Jail. A bond was set at $500,000.
