In the early morning hours of Thursday, January 15, 2026, the life of 20-year-old Johnathan Payne was cut short in a burst of violence that has left a community in search of answers. Payne was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound near a freeway interchange in Cleveland's Ohio City neighborhood.
