On the evening of December 2, 2025, a violent incident claimed the lives of two individuals in New Orleans, Louisiana. New Orleans Police Department officers responded to a call for service around 7:52 p.m. in the 14700 block of Chef Menteur Highway, located in the New Orleans East area. Upon arrival at the scene, first responders discovered two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite emergency efforts, both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.
The victims were identified as 18-year-old Lorenzo Morgan Jr. and 46-year-old Lorenzo Morgan Sr. The double homicide prompted an immediate investigation by the NOPD Homicide Section, with detectives working to gather evidence and determine a motive for the shooting. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office was tasked with conducting autopsies to officially confirm the causes of death.
As of the days following the incident, authorities had not announced any arrests or named specific suspects in connection with the deaths of the father and son. The investigation remained active, with police urging anyone with information to contact the Homicide Section or Crime Stoppers. Memorials, including online tributes and lit candles, were established to honor the memory of the younger victim.
