On the afternoon of December 6, 2025, a tragic sequence of events unfolded at a residence in the Richmond West neighborhood of Southwest Miami-Dade, Florida. Officers from the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office responded to an emergency call reporting a bleeding male at a home located in the 17000 block of Southwest 153rd Court. Upon arriving at the scene shortly after 1:00 p.m., first responders discovered two lifeless bodies inside the property.
The victims were identified as 44-year-old Ulises Cabrera Gonzalez and his wife, Susana Rosales Koris, a 42-year-old woman of Guatemalan descent. Both individuals had sustained fatal gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel.
Homicide detectives immediately launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting, which occurred while the couple's two minor children, a 13-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy, were present inside the home. Neighbors described the area as a typically quiet and friendly community, expressing shock at the sudden violence. Residents noted that the couple, who had been married since 2013 and had purchased the home in 2020, appeared to be doting parents and friendly neighbors who frequently waved to passersby from their open garage. The initial 911 call had described a chaotic scene, with reports of a man unresponsive and bleeding from the neck, leading authorities to secure the area and initiate a thorough forensic examination.
Following a preliminary investigation, the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office classified the incident as a murder-suicide involving domestic violence. Detectives determined that the shooting was an isolated incident confined to the residence. Due to the nature of the event, where the suspected perpetrator died alongside the victim, no arrests were made, and authorities did not seek any outstanding suspects. The case was effectively closed regarding criminal charges, with the medical examiner’s office confirming the cause of death for both individuals as gunshot wounds. The two surviving children were left in the care of family members as the community rallied to support them following the loss of both parents.
