On December 8, 2025, the community of Littleton, North Carolina, was shaken by the violent death of 28-year-old Montrell Devon Everett. A male resident of the area, Everett was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds along Little Drive, a tragedy that unfolded at a local apartment complex. Known to his friends and family by the nickname "5 Trell," he was remembered as a joyful presence who was always smiling and was a father to two children.
Law enforcement officers from the Littleton Police Department and the Halifax County Sheriff's Office responded rapidly to the scene, launching a homicide investigation with assistance from the State Bureau of Investigation. The inquiry revealed that the shooting was likely an incident involving a neighbor, occurring in the street near their residences.
