On the night of Tuesday, December 9, 2025, Prince George's County patrol officers were called to a residential neighborhood in Clinton, Maryland, following reports of gunfire. At approximately 9:55 p.m., first responders arrived at the 13000 block of Windbrook Drive, located near Henson Creek Regional Park. Upon arrival, they discovered an African American male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside of a home.
The victim was identified as 32-year-old Deandre Washington, who had no fixed address recorded at the time of the incident.
Emergency medical personnel treated Washington at the scene before transporting him to a nearby hospital for advanced care. Despite these efforts, he succumbed to his injuries a short time after arrival and was pronounced deceased. Detectives from the Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit immediately launched an investigation, canvassing the area for witnesses and collecting evidence. Preliminary assessments described the shooting as an isolated event, with investigators believing Washington was specifically targeted rather than the victim of a random crime.
As of the days immediately following the homicide, authorities had not named any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the case. The motive for the shooting remained under review as detectives continued to process the scene and follow up on leads. To encourage community assistance, a reward of up to $25,000 was offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment. A funeral service was subsequently scheduled to take place at the Ebenezer AME Church in Fort Washington later that month.
