On the early morning of December 12, 2025, 37-year-old Hispanic female Jessica Stephanie Gonzales was involved in a fatal incident at a lodging establishment in Fort Worth, Texas. Officers were dispatched around 5:20 a.m. to the Valley Motel, located in the 1800 block of Jacksboro Highway, following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, first responders discovered Gonzales suffering from a gunshot wound to her abdomen.
She was immediately transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment, but she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead later that day.
The events leading to the shooting reportedly began when Gonzales accompanied a male acquaintance to the motel to recover his vehicle, which had been stolen but not yet reported to law enforcement. The pair had located the missing car in the motel parking lot and were attempting to retrieve it when the confrontation occurred. During the attempt to recover the property, an unknown individual fired a weapon, striking Gonzales. Following the gunfire, two occupants of the stolen vehicle were seen fleeing the scene on foot, leaving the injured woman behind.
Detectives with the Fort Worth Police Department launched a homicide investigation, eventually identifying a suspect linked to the violent encounter. On December 23, 2025, authorities arrested 23-year-old Jacqueline Rodriguez in connection with Gonzales's death. Rodriguez was taken into custody on an outstanding murder warrant and subsequently booked into the Tarrant County Jail. While the investigation continued to explore potential connections to other criminal activities involving the vehicle, Rodriguez remained detained as the primary suspect in the murder case.
