On December 17, 2025, the quiet community of Rincon, Georgia, was shaken by a tragic discovery at a residence on Goshen Road. Deputies from the Effingham County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the home at 574 Goshen Road shortly before 3:00 p.m., responding to reports concerning the welfare of the occupants. Upon entering the property, investigators found the bodies of two individuals inside the house.
Among the deceased was 35-year-old female Amber Victoria Millican, a resident of the home.
As detectives processed the scene, the initial evidence led authorities to classify the incident as a murder-suicide. The investigation determined that Amber died alongside her husband, Wesley Daniel Millican, who was also found deceased at the location. Law enforcement officials indicated that the shooting was a domestic incident involving only the married couple, and they were not looking for any other suspects in connection with the deaths. No arrests were made, as the individual believed to be responsible was among the deceased.
Amber was a native of Hilton Head and had built a life in Rincon, where she worked as a CDL truck driver, a profession she shared with her husband. Friends and family remembered her as a creative spirit with a passion for animals, crafts, and the outdoors. She was also recognized for her resilience, having overcome personal struggles with addiction earlier in her life. She left behind a son, Stephen Daniel Wilson III, as well as her parents and extended family. Following the conclusion of the immediate investigation, plans were made for her interment at Rincon Cemetery.
