On the night of December 19, 2025, Long Beach Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1500 block of Summit Street, near Caspian Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene around 10:51 p.m., authorities discovered 23-year-old female Daisy Uribe inside a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper body. Police and Long Beach Fire Department paramedics attempted to render life-saving aid, but she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Minutes after the initial discovery, at approximately 10:58 p.m., officers received information regarding a second shooting just a block away in the 1600 block of West 19th Street. At this location, they found an adult male also suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died. Investigators determined that the man and Uribe had been in a dating relationship and were involved in a domestic violence dispute that escalated, leading him to fatally shoot Uribe before fleeing the immediate area and turning the weapon on himself.
Detectives from the Long Beach Police Department have classified the case as a murder-suicide and stated that there are no outstanding suspects believed to be involved in the shootings. The identity of the male suspect was initially withheld pending notification of his next of kin. The investigation remained ongoing following the incident, with authorities urging anyone with information to contact homicide detectives.
