In the early morning hours of November 2, 2025, the life of 32-year-old Broderick Morris, a Black male, was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in downtown Baltimore. At approximately 1:35 a.m., Baltimore Police Department officers from the Central District responded to a report of a shooting on the 300 block of W. Lexington Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Morris suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services transported Morris to a local hospital
where he was initially listed in critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Broderick Morris succumbed to his injuries later that same day. The case was then classified as a homicide and the investigation was taken over by homicide detectives.
Following a month-long investigation, authorities identified a suspect in the fatal shooting. On December 4, 2025, detectives with the Warrant Apprehension Task Force arrested 19-year-old Tyrell Tucker of Harford County at his residence. The arrest was made without incident. Tucker was subsequently transported to the Central Booking & Intake Facility and has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Broderick Morris.
