In the late hours of a Friday evening in Chicago, the life of Ricky Abdul Jabbar Pearson, a 37-year-old man, was tragically cut short. On November 7, 2025, in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the city's South Side, Pearson was discovered inside a vehicle on the 8800 block of South Lowe Avenue. He had sustained two gunshot wounds to his chest.
Law enforcement responded to a call of a person shot in the area just after 10 p.m. Upon their arrival, they found Pearson in a grave state.
He was rushed to Christ Hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead. Investigators believe that Pearson was shot by multiple men who then fled the scene on foot.
As of now, the individuals responsible for this act of violence remain at large. The Chicago Police Department has not made any arrests in connection with the shooting, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The investigation is being handled by Area Two detectives, who are continuing to seek answers in the death of Ricky Abdul Jabbar Pearson.
