Dontonyio Spruill, a 37-year-old man from Cincinnati, was shot and killed on the afternoon of November 7, 2025, when gunfire erupted along Poplar Street near Central Avenue in the city’s West End neighborhood. Police were first alerted not by a 911 call, but by a ShotSpotter notification that detected gunshots around 2:30 p.m., sending officers racing to the intersection where dense housing and busy streets meet in a tight grid.
